GDPR Compliance – Why should US businesses care?

GDPR Compliance - Why should US businesses care?

As a small business owner in the U.S., you may think the new European standard for cyber-security doesn’t apply to you because you don’t do enough business in Europe to fall under the new regulation.

Maybe you think your business is too small to be affected by the new regulation.

You’re not alone if your small business hasn’t been paying close attention to the fact that the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) goes live May 25, 2018.

WP Engine has some great info in the video below – it is really short, I promise.

Short answer – Give us a call and we can help you get the pieces in place you need to need for a compliant website – and like Doc says, we are not lawyers, so please consult with your legal team about specific data management changes that may need to be addressed in your organization.

The Pella Hosting team does have some fairly simple solutions that we can implement here if needed. It really is each businesses call as to whether they want to be compliant or not. We are not requiring it, as it is not a US regulation, however it does impact everyone who is marketing online.

Give us a call at 641-613-3406 if you have questions about how this might impact your business.
